And that’s a wrap! After a lengthy awards season and weeks of predictions, the 84th Academy Awards came and went at a fairly quick pace and with plenty of moments to smile about. I have to say, Billy Crystal is one hell of an entertainer and it was a complete joy to have him back as host; in fact, everything about the night was so classical.

Star Wars – Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 3D
In this episode of Reel Reactions we interview Star Wars fans to get their thoughts on the series’ first 3D rerelease “The Phantom Menace”.
The Artist
Michel Hazanavicius’ new and highly ambitious film, The Artist, accomplishes the seemingly impossible: It features a highly engaging and simplistic storyline with two attractive characters played by foreign actors unknown to American audiences with an adjusted aspect ratio, black and white photography, and, most astonishing of all, absolutely no dialogue. The Vow
Reel Reactions kicks off a brand new season with a look at the new not-a-Nicholas-Sparks-movie-but-might-as-well-be tearjerker “The Vow”.
Albert Nobbs
Albert Nobbs has been nominated for a Golden Globe, an Oscar, plus 17 nominations and four wins from smaller festivals and award organizations and it only opened nationwide in US theatres January 27th. So what’s all the hype about?
The film features popular stars such as the legendary Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska from Alice in Wonderland, and familiars from the Harry Potter franchise such as Mark Williams and Brendan Gleeson.
The Woman In Black
Even though the film is called The Woman In Black, judging by the audience at the screening I went to, they might as well have called it Harry Potter and the Next Big Career Move. Those eager to see Daniel Radcliffe should not be disappointed, as he appears on screen nearly the entire movie. His constant presence is welcome, being the best thing about this run of the mill ghost story.
